The event marked the conclusion of the 20th edition of “The Best Annual Report” competition for regulated market companies and the 13th edition for participants of the NewConnect alternative market.
It was a great pleasure to participate in this exceptional event, which has been promoting the highest standards of financial and non-financial reporting in Poland for two decades.
During the gala, the President of MERCUS Logistyka, Mr. Andrzej Boczoń, had the honor of announcing that the competition jury had awarded Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa (JSW) a distinction for the high quality of its management report—a recognition of the company’s professionalism, credibility, and high standards of financial reporting.
Jubilee Edition – A Summary of 20 Years of Reporting Excellence
This year’s edition of the competition was not only an opportunity to honor the best annual reports but also a moment to reflect on the evolution of reporting standards in the context of the CSRD Directive and the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS).
The competition jury noted that, despite a challenging macroeconomic environment—including the impact of global geopolitical tensions and strategic and political shifts—the quality of reporting among public companies remained high. Notable improvements were observed in management reports and corporate governance statements, confirming a growing awareness of the importance of transparent communication with stakeholders and investors. The winners included leading Polish companies and financial institutions—such as Asseco Poland, Bank Handlowy, Bank Pekao, Tauron PE, PZU, and Żabka Group—recognized for the superior quality of their financial and non-financial reports, as well as for strategic coherence and the skillful integration of numerical data with narrative (“storytelling”).
Orlen and ING Bank Śląski were among those distinguished in the sustainability reporting category, while Tauron PE and Santander BP emerged as leaders in remuneration reporting.
Top corporate awards went to LW Bogdanka, JSW, and Unimot, while Kruk, Bank Handlowy, and Bank Pekao took the top honors among banks and financial institutions.
Kapituła wyróżniła również spółki, które przez lata utrzymują najwyższy poziom raportowania, tworząc prestiżowy „Klub The Best of The Best”.
